Free Time Fun!

We as a group have looked into what people at Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi do during their free time in school. We also tried to find out whether there was anything that could be done to improve free time in school.

Free time Survey

We asked pupils from every year in school what they did during their free time. We surveyed 144 pupils asking them what activities they did. We found that talking to friends was the most popular activity in Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi. The pie chart shows our findings:

(Many pupils said they did more than one activity.)

A Teacher’s point of view

Pupils aren’t the only ones who have an opinion about free time. Here is Mr. John M.  [link to interview]

Room for improvement

In the survey we asked whether pupils wanted to change anything to do with their free time in school. 29% said they didn’t want to change anything and 71% said that they wanted more free time. One good suggestion was to set up a Drama Club. It is something worth considering, as it can be an opportunity to socialise with new people.

Christian packs a punch for Wales!

A drama club could help to achieve many things, but you don’t have to go to a drama club to gain achievements. There are many other clubs or activities that you can go to. There’s rugby and football training in school for instance. One boy that we interviewed has achieved many things with his hobby. Christian is part of the Akai Ju-Jitsu club from Synod Inn. Recently Christian along with eight other members of the Ju-Jitsu club qualified to represent Wales at the nationals held in November.

We kindly asked Christian if he would mind doing an interview with us. Christian said “Yeah sure.” He was even kind enough to show us a few of his moves for the camera along with his friend Sion.

Christian is wearing the orange belt.
